Why I Write
As a person who would rather write than breathe (or eat, or sleep, or work, or walk the dog…you get the idea), I am incredibly lucky to have some great–and very understanding–people in my life.
One Giant Man, one Tiny Teenager, three cats and a dog (yes, they’re people; they’re just not human people), share a little Victorian house with me in the beautiful Inland Northwest.
Three of the six of us make regular trips to central and southern California, mostly in Speedy–see below!–the dog is ok with it as long as she’s with us; I can’t imagine the cats agreeing.
When I’m not writing or teaching, I like to visit my family, decorate my house, noodle on my website, spend time with my wonderful circle of friends.
And read, read, read.
What I Read
Off the top of my head and in no particular order:
- The Dragonriders of Pern (the first 6, in particular), by the late, much-missed Anne McCaffrey
- The Vorkosigan Series by Lois McMaster Bujold
- The Species Imperative Series, by Julie Czerneda
- The Foreigner Series, by C.J. Cherryh
Yes, I realize (now) that the authors are all women. Go figure.wink
More to come…
